Walking into Completion
Nov 14, 2025
We’re entering a period of time that naturally supports the energy of completion. You may be feeling this.
This month I invited a small group of women, all healers who’ve been walking a growth path alongside me for many years, to join me on a Full Moon walk.
Where I live there are many walking trails through the countryside, surrounded by nature. And living in the UK, we’re blessed to be in one of the few places in the world where there are no dangerous predators – non-human ones, anyway.
We watched the sunset from my back garden and, once we were all gathered, set off together on what was quite a mild night for November. We walked across the familiar nature trails behind my home, torches in pockets, only using them for a few tricky crossing places – little streams that needed careful footing. I encouraged my companions to let their eyes adjust to the dark, because once they do, we can see surprisingly well.
At first this daunted some of them, then delighted them, because we humans are incredibly adaptable. Yet in our lives of modern comfort, we often shrink back from the unknown. We’re a strange mix – deeply in tune with our environment, yet our non-conscious wiring can make us deeply distrustful of our own lives, experiences, and even our perceptions, especially when early life has been challenging.
It’s important to see this, because within that very dichotomy lies an opportunity. To strip back what came in through old experiences and return to what is true in the moment. To come home to our natural balance – the homeostasis that is always available to us.
On this beautiful walk under the Full Moon, in a somewhat cloudy sky, we decided to set an intention. Standing in a dark hollow, we tuned in to see if a shared intention would arise. Every one of us felt that we were in a period of completion in our lives. It looked different for each of us, but it was very present.
One of the group shared that, in numerology, this year is a completion year in both a short count and a long count. We all shared what we felt we were completing, what was coming up to be wrapped up and put behind us for good.
When we’re in that space of completion, there’s often an essential part still waiting to finish. Sometimes we need help with that. We need to go within. We need to walk into the darkness and see what’s there. To look at our own shadow, at the parts that sit underneath the masks we wear. And then to look further still, beneath the shadow, to the vulnerability we’ve been protecting.
When we first start our healing journey, we look at what happened. Later we begin to see what happened to us and what that meant. But there are deeper layers still. It can be harmful to stop at the meaning level, because beneath that, we find the behaviours we created to protect ourselves.
These are the parts Jung called the shadow self – the pieces we don’t always want to see. The ones we cover with pleasing masks or excuses. Yet when we look, when we strip away the masks and dare to see the shadow clearly, we find a tender vulnerability underneath. And when we look even deeper, beneath that vulnerability, we can catch a glimpse of our limitless nature.
That’s where the potential of everything lives. Once we connect with that limitless self, our work becomes to embody it and to notice all the layers that gather around it. For that limitless light is often what we fear most.
We walked for three hours under the moonlight, through woodland and fields, across streams that glistened in the dim light. We could see surprisingly clearly in the dark. It was Bonfire Night here in the UK, and in the distance, fireworks crowned the horizon – bright bursts of colour and noise above our quiet steps.
We disturbed a few sleepy birds, apologised softly, and noticed apple trees groaning under the weight of fruit that no one had picked. The full moon played peek-a-boo through the clouds, revealing itself at perfect moments during our shared reflections.
It was a magical walk. One we all want to repeat. And it was deeply symbolic. A reminder of how capable we are of seeing in dark times. How much is offered to us. How the noise and flashes of life can be seen from a distance while we remain rooted in peace. How nature is ready for relationship again, if only we accept the invitation.
And so, back to the theme of our walk. Completion.
Does this resonate with you right now? Are you wrapping something up in your life? Is there a thread still hanging that might just close beautifully with a little help?
There may be something in the dark inviting you to step in and see. You might feel the call of your limitless core, asking you to strip off the masks and step into your fullest potential.
Normally at this time of year I’d be winding down for winter. And in some ways, I am. But I’m also completing a phase of my work. My new membership is in progress, soon to bring a more accessible way to do this deep inner work. But in the meantime, there’s still space to work with me one-to-one and round out this year.
If this energy of completion speaks to you, I’d invite you to close out this chapter before the winter solstice – before nature’s turning point. I have a few spaces open before my time off with family over the holidays.
If you feel this is your moment, let’s walk that last stretch together.
